Updates !

Today i converted our clothes dryer from propane to natural gas. The hardest part was getting the dryer open. Once i figured that out the orfice and regulator went in fine.I need to get a swivel fitting for the gas line and to run the vent to hook it up .I got the drain started and the upstairs toilet is " in operation", next is the trunk for the other drains. By the way, i highly recommend the pex , easy to work with. We been taken showers and lovin' it . The tankless water heater is also a big hit , water on demand. Never gets cold , steady temperature ! I mounted the ceiling lights in the kitchen . Its funny , we have electric , but no lamps here , there in Pa. Big things are happening all at once now, very exciting !

Silence is golden !

For once the sound of the generator was'nt in the background ! We have electric !!! The guys were working on the secondary lines , so we were hoping today was the day. The dead giveaway was when the one guy walked up the driveway. with our meter. After i did the jig for awhile , i turned off the generator ! I went downstairs to the fusebox and flicked the main on. Then i started firing up rooms and pluging into the wall outlets. The tv, internet , light, fridge and water heater. Katie did an awesome job on the electric , i knew she would. I closed the walls with confidence. I also tried the range hood , lights an fan work great !

No electric or drain !

The electric co. didn't come out today , they must have been busy . Last i told you i was working on  the bathroom. I installed the shower stall & toilet , but there are no drains yet. Since i hooked up the pex manifold, i was able to run a water line to the downstairs toilet. Before that we had a 55 gallon drum we filled with water, then scooped the water out with a pitcher to fill the toilet tank. Now it fills itself , automatically ! So i wanted Katie to enjoy the first shower in the new one. I havn't installed the drain pipe yet, so i ran a piece of pipe into the 55 gallon drum , then i dumped it outside. She loved it and so did i ! But remember , don't use the upstairs toilet yet , There's no drain ! 

Poles !

It was an exciting day , our electric co. put the poles in. I have been working on the shower and its coming along nicely. Their coming back wednday to run the wires , WO - HO !!! Katie is finishing the drywall and it looks great !

Plumbing & new appliance !

I finished hooking up the tankless hot water heater to the pex manifold. Katie got her new stove & refrigerator ! Finishing the drywall in the living room is going good.

The shower, tv and the cat

I started the shower stall yesterday. We had to run into town for some supplies. I had to get fittings so i can connect the 3/4 pvc to the tankless hot water heater. Then from there it goes to the pex manifold, then to all the fixtures. Then i can complete the bathroom , laundry room and kitchen plumbing ! We were also told , they start installing the electric poles tomorrow ! Then tis morning i wake up take the dogs out and we get greeted by a kitten . Someone must have left it and it found us. I wish i could keep it but we have enough pets already , so we took it to the s.p.c.a. It was cute, so it should have a good home soon. Oh yeh , we picked up our big screen from the shop. The computer board went poof , it was  still cheaper to fix, then a new one. I never realized how small a 19" screen is , lol .

Bear prints !

We worked on the drywall in the dining room & living room. I carried alot of tools and material that's not in use anymore, for more room. I was tired today , so i took a break and went down to check out the pond. Not only is it getting full but i found bear prints . Got pictures today ! Katie is doing an excellent job of finishing the drywall !!!

Paint , drywall and the tree ,,,

Katie started painting the kitchen , it looks nice , good job honey ! I took the T's apart , i know longer have use for them , the ceiling is rocked. Four more sheets on the walls and the rocking is done. Then i start the bathroom. I looked outside and noticed a tree by the road fell. Then i thought , is it across the road ,, it was. I normally would'nt care but my neighbor down below is coming in tomorrow. I did'nt want him to have to clear it to get to his property, so i clear the road. Thats what we do here and you gotta love it ! While i was out on the road , i took a picture of the house.

Passed !

Today the electric inspector came out . Our meter and 200 amp panel has now passed inspection, thanks Brad ! Katie started painting the kitchen in lou of her new stove & refrigerater ! I am almost finished hanging sheetrock in the living room. It rained like cats and dogs here today, the roof sheds it well . No pictures today, battery died, come back tomorrow for more pictures.

Electric meter

Katie and i installed the electric meter on the house. From the schedule 40 conduit underground we connected the schedule 80 up the wall. We mounted the panel to the house & drove the 2 ground rods in. All that needs to be done is connect the wires. The inspector comes out friday , then power in 2 weeks after inspection. We are very excited to have the conviance back again. I also pressure washed the concrete and put the hinges in the door to the attic. I also finished the ridge cap and screwed down the drip edge.

Staying busy !

Saturday i took some time to clean up the basement , it looked like a bomb went off ! Now we have room enough for a ho - down. I took a dead hemlock tree down , cut it up and split it for firewood. Were now trying not to use the furnace because we don't want to clog the filter with all the drywall dust.Katie has been spakling , taping and sanding , i hang the drywall . The living room is the last room and i started that yesterday. Today i worked on the t-111 at the front door end of the house . I cut out a door to get up there from outside. I will have pictures tomorrow , since my battery died....

On the roof !

Brad came down on his day off to help me with the roof. We needed to put the ridge cap on and the last two pieces of tin on. Since i was'nt comfortable walking the wet roof Brad jumped right up on it , Thanks buddy ! Then Ryan and Brian stopped in to help us , thanks guys ! In the morning before we started , I got a few sheets of drywall up in the dining room. It's been cold and damp for weeks and tomorrow its going up to 75. Sweet ! I plan to get out my pressure washer and clean the conrete . It got stained from the water running down the front of the container , now the roof sheds it away !
