The search is over !!!

I fianally found us the perfect second 4x4 for down here . I also hooked up the drain for the shower , no more dumping the barrel ! Now i can tap all the other drains in for the tub , vanity and kitchen sink ! Also there's a picture of the blizzard we had for a half hour !

Washer & ice maker !

Today i ran the pex line for the ice maker on our new fridge , boy that pex is nice ! I also got the right fittings for the clothes washer lines and it now works ! We still have spakling and painting to do , its tuff with all the boxes from the move. I need to start consentrating on the plumbing , sink , vanity,tub and kitchen sink. I've been busy trying to locate a cheap 4x4 cause the neon is not going to cut it here in the winter. It's been nice this last week i have gotten a well needed breather ! It also snowed to like a blizzard for about a half hour , just a reminder i guess.

The DMV !

We had to run back to Pa. to get the rest of our stuff . Now our house here looks like the " Hoarder show" , stuff everywhere ! Thanks to all that helped , Timmy , Darleen, Lou , Randy , Bubb, Brad , Butch , Nate , Lisa and Carly ! Then we had to go to the "DMV" to change our registrations , license and get tags. Then we picked up our bed frame we bought. I split some firewood to burn in our stove we brought from Pa. As far as worked goes i hooked up the washer upstairs and started putting stuff away. Now that all those things are done and we live here full time, much more work will get done !

Snow ?

We got a dusting of snow the other night , i guess winters at our back door, a knockin' .I hooked up the clothes dryer since its too cold to hang wash out. I hung the two overhead kitchen lights too , since the ceilings painted there. Then our kitchen cabinets were delivered . About 2/3's of our driveway has stone on it , the rest is mud. So the driver backed up to the end of the stone and dropped off the 2 skids . Then i loaded the boxes into my truck and brought them to the house and unloaded them. Our furnace works great , i am enjoying not having to get firewood all the time. But i know we will still burn the woodstove , because after 35 years firewood is part of my life !!! This afternoon i'm waiting on a triaxle of stone to finish the driveway !

Updates !

Today i converted our clothes dryer from propane to natural gas. The hardest part was getting the dryer open. Once i figured that out the orfice and regulator went in fine.I need to get a swivel fitting for the gas line and to run the vent to hook it up .I got the drain started and the upstairs toilet is " in operation", next is the trunk for the other drains. By the way, i highly recommend the pex , easy to work with. We been taken showers and lovin' it . The tankless water heater is also a big hit , water on demand. Never gets cold , steady temperature ! I mounted the ceiling lights in the kitchen . Its funny , we have electric , but no lamps here , there in Pa. Big things are happening all at once now, very exciting !

Silence is golden !

For once the sound of the generator was'nt in the background ! We have electric !!! The guys were working on the secondary lines , so we were hoping today was the day. The dead giveaway was when the one guy walked up the driveway. with our meter. After i did the jig for awhile , i turned off the generator ! I went downstairs to the fusebox and flicked the main on. Then i started firing up rooms and pluging into the wall outlets. The tv, internet , light, fridge and water heater. Katie did an awesome job on the electric , i knew she would. I closed the walls with confidence. I also tried the range hood , lights an fan work great !

No electric or drain !

The electric co. didn't come out today , they must have been busy . Last i told you i was working on  the bathroom. I installed the shower stall & toilet , but there are no drains yet. Since i hooked up the pex manifold, i was able to run a water line to the downstairs toilet. Before that we had a 55 gallon drum we filled with water, then scooped the water out with a pitcher to fill the toilet tank. Now it fills itself , automatically ! So i wanted Katie to enjoy the first shower in the new one. I havn't installed the drain pipe yet, so i ran a piece of pipe into the 55 gallon drum , then i dumped it outside. She loved it and so did i ! But remember , don't use the upstairs toilet yet , There's no drain !
