We had some hickory trees come down in the woods from the last storm. I started splitting some up to season for winter. Also painted basement walls with drylock for extra protection and it looks nice.

Fulfilling a dream !
Katie has always wanted her own restaurant . We received an opportunity to purchase an investment that we couldn't pass up. We bought an old 50's style soda shop / restaurant. It's in the town of Cairo only 15 mins. from our home. There's an apartment upstairs that needs alittle work but the restaurant is ready to go ! We are really excited about the fact that the Northbend State Park has a rail trail which ends in Cairo. It's a bike path that follows the old B&O railroad and is known to have a haunted tunnel. Come one come all , then stop and have a snack at our place. We are calling it "SHEMP'S" , don't ask it's our little secret !

No Bull !
So the other night my dogs started barking around 11:00pm. I get out of bed and see two lights shining onto our pasture. I get out of bed , grabbed shotgun and out i go. I yell out " what the f**k you doing out there ? He answers " Curt it's Roy, my bull got out" . I was relieved that it was my neighbor and i didn't have to shoot anyone. We looked down with our flashlights and there he is , all 2100lbs of black angus bull ! He was laying in our creek to cool off from the walking and nooky he had. Roy says " can i leave him for the night and i get him in the morning". No problem i said. Next day we tried to load him in his trailer, bull didn't want to go. So i said to Roy " would you consider leaving him here for a week to knock momma up". He said sure because he already took care of his 50 cows and figure he needed a break. The funny part of this story is that i was getting ready to call a guy to artifically inseminate her. It was like the man upstairs dropped that one in my lap. Saved me $200 and the grass he eats. By the way it's been raining there's no lack of that !

Install complete !
Katie & i put the pool together today , by the way , don't try it alone, lol. It's gonna feel good these next couple of months. The nice thing about the rain we have been getting. The creek is up and my submersible pump is filling the pool. What a beautiful thing , it's saving us like $250 , to have a truck deliver the water.Check out the timber retaining wall

Mind as well jump ! Jump ! Go ahead and jump !
Since we expanded our flock the chickens are free ranging. The doe was right out the front door to greet me. I have been working on leveling out the area for the new pool. I also spent several hours getting my " free delivery" to show up. Now i have to wait for it to dry up some before the installation. All its been doing is raining lately, but its great for the garden and the pasture!

Who needs brakes ?
So the only thing wrong with the dumptruck i bought was it needed a battery and the brakes didn't hold fluid. I looked at the master cylinder and it was wet so i figured the rubber was worn, so i ordered a rebuild kit. Then i noticed the rear cylinders were leaking too, i figured no problem , i'll rebuild them too. Well after diagnosing the cylinders , i saw the problem. When i bought the truck the guy said they had dual wheels on the back at one time, i guess so they could carry more weight. He tells me that they fell off and they didn't put them back on. What he forgot to tell me was the drums rode on the wheel cylinders and wore a groove in them. So those i have to replace, i still got a great deal. Oh yeh and the last pic is of the area i'm leveling for the now swimming pool the wife has wanted. You know what they say " If the wife isn't happy, nobody's happy" love ya baby !
