We took a break today !
Today we woke up and it was raining . My next steps are to cut thru the one door and install our new air conditioner and to cut off the 2 trailer doors and install our double doors. Neither is good to do on a rainy day. So here in our town twice a year they have an antique engine show. It happenened to be today and tomorrow, so we picked up an umbrella at the dollar store and we went. I missed the show the last 2 years since we bought the property because of bad timing. Now was my chance . The guy that did our excavating and the guy that dug our well both were there. They both were glad to see us , since they invited us 2 years ago and we never made it. So its not container related but i got some nice pictures to share we you ! We may go back tomorrow , there will be more engines and a parade !

Doors are welded shut
Today my wonderful neighbor Orval welded 3 of the 4 doors shut. There's no better man for the job, he was a navy welding teacher . Now you must realize this man is 81 years old and he still welds overhead bareback, impressive ! Now that the doors are welded shut , i can remove the bars that lock the doors. Also i'm done framing, all besides the doors ,that i wanted to wait till they were welded so i could get to the nuts & bolts easier, to take off the bars. We bought an air conditioner that were putting in the wall , which is one of the doors. So the timing could'nt be better. Thank Orval !!! I also started the plumbing...

Still framing !
The last few days i have framed out the wall between the bedrooms. I also have framed more of the ceiling joists and the inner walls. The last framing to be done is the walls on either side of the basement steps ( not there yet ) and the front door. I want to cut the opening in the floor first before installing the walls , so there not in the way. We also have 2 new doe that cross our pasture , this morning our dogs recognized them. When i called them to come back , they did but they ran them all the way off the property. I'm worried they will keep running after them but their proving me wrong, thank god !

I visited the "Hillbilly Hilton" at the end of today. The first full day of sun for a long while here. What's with all the rain , anyway ?

Framing and mechanics days !
Yesterday i framed in the laundry room and part of the kitchen. This morning my neighbor asked me to help him remove his well pump, which i gladly did. Then when i got back instead of framing ,. i decide to take a break. I have wanted since last year to put a new starter in our suzuki 4 wheeler. I already bought it , i just had to take out the time to fix it. I need to put rear brakes on it too, but who uses brakes anyway, lol. Katie tells me i need to learn to walk away from the house work now and then. She always knows what right for me and i always listen ,lol. Katie has cooked some awesome meals and kept things tidy, while i'm working. I could'nt do this without her, she's always there for me , thanks baby !

Framing !
We picked up 150 - 2 x 3's to start framing the inner walls. I decided on 2 x 3 's cause we save 1" on the wall thickness and because they are not load bearing, there not used for strength. We got a great deal on a range hood for Katie at Lowe's , half price ! It's a nice one , the kind she deserves . We don't really need it yet , just the dimensions for the exhaust ducting , but at that price will take it.But the framing is working out as a expected , just a long process. So i'm trying to mix it up alittle with the other things we do , too.

Slowly back to work ...
I chalked the last 2 windows installed due to the rain thats coming. I knew i better get that colvert pipe in too. Around here things have to be done in order of priority. I had to change the oil in the generators. Also the solar panels don't seem to be charging the batteries quickly enough , so i re-wired from series to parallel , to gain more amperage. When the sun shines again . i will let you know how it worked. The rain is really making the garden grow!
