Big Surprise !!!

I came home early from the restaurant on Sunday, to rest for opening day of buck. I'm sitting at the table having some pizza Katie made for me for lunch. I look out and see extra legs on my one cow. So i got a better view with my binoculars and what a shock i got. There was a calf standing next to it's mom, that i thought wasn't due till March. It's like i was meant to be home to help him into the barn and on the teat. We named him Chilly after our favorite 6 year old customer suggested we call him.So in a way Ryan , he's your calf buddy. Chilly is very healthy and jumping around in the barn. I got some pics !

Dee and the Jeep party !

Our newest addition to the farm is "Dee" , she is a bred heifer. How i came up with her name is because her ear tag # is 3. First thing that number reminds me of is Dale Earnhart , initials D.E. or Dee ! She is half black angus , half herford and is called a " White face", in the pics you will see why. I sold " Buckey and Stormy" and bought "Dee" to expand the herd. So now it's " Dee and Momma" both bred and expecting in the spring. I have been working in my spare time fixing up the "55 Willys" , new shocks,side mirrors,gas tank neck,tune-up,carb rebuildand and new pair of sneakers! She's running pretty good , i just need to get some kinks out and she'll be just fine. So you will see in the pic the "51" , "55" and "93" were having alittle get together! At Shemp's today Katie, Gerry and i worked on the booths and put legs on yet another new table. We only kept a few small tables for one or two and the rest are larger for comfort.We got some snow the other night too !

WOW !

Shemp's had another successful weekend with our "Philly" cheesesteak as our best seller. Now that we starting making homemade pizzas, they are our 2nd best seller. Friday nite  "Jim Petry" played guitar and sang for us, boy is that a good time.At one time he use to silkscreen pinball machines and he gave me one to display in our cafe. Thanks buddy it will make an awesome addition to our dining room.

Booths?

We found out after a few weekends that are tables are too small. We heard that Red Lobster upgraded their seating and gave them to Habitat for Humanity. So we went there and bought some for Shemp's . Now we can seat four people comfortably without moving tables. We have the tables in and are using the same seats , until we reupholster them.This Friday , Jim Petry will be playing again,sure to be a great nite! Soon we will have booth seating for your comfort.

Standing room only !

Friday nite at "Shemp's" we had Jim Petry play guitar and sing for us. He played some good old rock and roll for us and it was a great time! We talked to Jim about being a regular at our place , he agreed to . We also had one of our favorite little guys, Ryan, sing some Christmas carols for us too. What a great nite of music and great food. Jim packed our place for hours and everyone had a great time.Thanks Jim our local "Rock Star" !!!
